The first Tefen Model Industrial Park in Turkey was established in 2005 in the Gebze industrial area, some 40 km southeast of Istanbul.  The Park is a joint initiative of the Industrial Parks, together with the Gebze Organised Industrial Zone, the Sabanci University, the Kocaeli Chamber of Industry, the Gebze Chamber of Commerce and the Kocaeli University.

The Gebze Industrial Park (GOSB Technopark) was established within the framework of the Turkish “Teknopark Law”, which offers extensive tax benefits to companies and workers located in the Park. The Sabanci University works in close cooperation with the Tel Aviv University to provide comprehensive educational programs for the training and support of local entrepreneurs.

The first stage of the Industrial Park Includes 4 of 8 planned buildings that are at full occupancy, housing over 60 hi tech start up companies employing 250 local software and research and development professionals.  High demand has led to the commencement of the second stage of construction, whereby two multi-purpose hybrid buildings suitable for both hi-tech and production industries will be ready for occupancy by spring 2008.
